What It Means to Work & Win With Great Care
In 2014, I showed up to a Nike Run Club event in Georgetown, DC wearing Kobe basketball shoes, hooper shorts, and a t-shirt. I was clearly not a runner.
A Nike associate walked over and asked if I needed shoes. I said I wasn't buying today. He said, "No need to buy. We give shoes to runners who need them. We just want to see you win."
They measured my foot. Analyzed my gait. Fit me for the right shoe. Set me up on the app. Gave me a sport watch. Handed out water and led stretching after the run. They didn't ask for my email. They didn't pitch me a discount. They just served—fully, freely, with great care.
That was 2014. I've bought nothing but Nike athletic gear ever since.
That experience is a perfect real-world picture of what I'm teaching this week: the Divine Law of Compensation. What you give with great care, love, and intention—it comes back.
